Green Bay, Wis. (October 22, 2004). On November 15, 2004, a partnership of business leaders, economic development groups, and educational institutions will gather to unveil a cooperative regional economic development effort unseen before. Conference sponsors from the Northeast Wisconsin Regional Economic Development Partnership include the Northeast Wisconsin Chambers Coalition*, the Northeast Wisconsin Educational Resource Alliance (NEW ERA)**, The Boldt Company, the Bay Area Workforce Development Board, and the Fox Valley Workforce Development Board.
The event, being held at the KI Convention Center (333 Main Street, Green Bay) will include a keynote address by Gov. Jim Doyle discussing why businesses should invest in regional cooperation, a look into the NorthStar Regional Economic Opportunity Study with David Ward and Dennis Winters, as well as a presentation by Rebecca Ryan regarding why regional cooperation is important to Northeast Wisconsin. A response panel led by conference hosts Kathi Seifert, Kimberly Clark, and Bob DeKoch, The Boldt Company, will feature Appleton Mayor, Tim Hanna; UW-Oshkosh Chancellor, Richard Wells; Wayne Matzke, Grande Cheese; and Joe VonDerVellen, Kohler Company. Attendees will also have an opportunity to react to the NorthStar recommendations for the region’s economic future in an audience participation segment featuring electronic voting.
