In July of 2000, David J. Ward completed his thirty-one year career as a professor of finance with the University of Wisconsin System. In May of 2000, Dr. Ward established NorthStar Economics, a consulting firm dedicated to the development and implementation of New Economy development strategies. Since 2000, Ward's has applied his strategies to private businesses, state and local governments, business organizations and education institutions. Dr. Ward recently co-authored the book, NorthStar Guide to Growth and Venture Capital, the first in a series of primers and state directories of risk capital.
In his career as a professor of finance, Professor Ward was active as a financial and economic consultant and worked for a number of private sector firms including Kimberly Clark, Honeywell, and Land's End. He also worked extensively as a forensic economist, testifying in numerous cases in federal and circuit courts. He co-authored a college-level text on personal finance, and is the author and host of two educational television series copyrighted by the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents.
